What to include in a cable inquiry

Six details to prepare before asking for a quotation.

Start with the devices

Record the manufacturer and model of the source and destination devices. A port photo or drawing can help identify the required connection.

Describe the function

State whether the connection is for charging, data, video or another purpose. Include the performance you need; avoid relying on a connector name alone.

Add the physical requirements

List connectors at both ends, cable length, installation space, flexibility and any panel-mount or orientation requirements.

Make the commercial request complete

Include quantity, destination, sample needs, target date and packaging. Ask the supplier to confirm the exact specification and commercial terms in writing.

No standard MOQ, delivery promise, certification or warranty is implied by this checklist.
